With the environment in mind

Materials and the environment

All our flagging tape is manufactured in its’ entirety at our manufacturing plant in Trångsviken in northern Sweden. The rolls are placed in corrugated boxes and placed on wooden pallets. We use many different materials, in different weights and with different characteristics. Below is a brief description of the most common materials.

We only use water based printing ink. Our our suppliers comply with REACH as well as our quality and environmental policies.

Non-woven is a cellulose based material, which contains fibers of different lengths. Commonly, the fibres are 100% from cellulose, but we also use materials with synthetic fibers, all depending on the required use and functionality of the bands. Non-woven has a high absorption capacity and is commonly used in health care products.  Many forest companies appreciate cellulose non-woven as it is biodegradeable, compatible with the pulp making process and easy to apply on trees. The material withstands sunlight, rain and wind, however they have a shorter life expectancy than plastic bands. Our simples bands will last up to a year in our harsh nordic climate, while the strongest non-woven bands will last for years. Due to the construction of non-woven and the varying situations in nature, the durability of the band can vary and there are no guarantees in duration.

Qualities: ecoflag™ basic, ecoflag™ deluxe and ecoflag™ strong.

The non-woven bands are often manufactured in the widths 20 mm or 30mm, with lengths up to 75 meters. The bands can be printed on both sides, with several colors and logo. We can apply reflective material on each band. All bands can be tailored.

Plastic (polyethylene, PE)

Our plastic flagging tape is made of 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly polyehtylene. We will never make flagginf tape of vinyl/PVC. The plastic bands have better durability than our non-woven bands, yet are easy to apply to trees. The plastic bands withstand sublight, rain and wind, with the added benefit than snow and ice will nor stick to the bands in winter creating good visibility all year round. The plastic bands are not compatible with the pulp process.

Our strongest plastic bands are used by rescue services and police. The material is extremely strong in the direction of the roll. Flagging tape for rescue or police can only be ordered by competent authorities, although the material is and can be used for other applications where extreme tear strength is required.

Qualities: ecoflag™ PE, and ecoflag™ PE strong

Our plastic bands are commonly manufactured in the widths 30mm, 40mm or 70mm, with lengths ranging up to 500 meters. The bands can be printed on both sides, with one or several colors and with or without logo. We can also apply reflective material to the bands. All bands can be tailor made.

We also manufacture rolls in kraft paper, bleached or unbleached. Paper thickness vary a lot, but commonly we use  70g/m2 or 80g/m2. We can also manufacture paper rolls with a polyethylene coating, which can be used for heat sealing. The most common area of use is packaging of banknotes, see our business area Cash Packaging.
